Nell at 555 Apartments is a new residential community at 555 Herndon Parkway in Herndon, Virginia, developed by Fairfield Residential Company. Muller completed its turnkey site development scope in April 2026, preparing the site for vertical construction through site clearing, erosion and sediment controls, demolition, earthwork, underground utilities, stormwater management, and roadway improvements.
Muller’s completed scope included removal of existing asphalt, concrete flatwork, curb and gutter, storm systems, light poles, and fire hydrants before fine grading and utility installation. Crews installed 8-inch C900 sanitary sewer, RCP, HDPE, and CMP storm drain systems, ductile iron waterline, Jellyfish treatment structures, and BMP planter boxes with underdrains. Final improvements included concrete flatwork, curb and gutter, asphalt roadway and bike path paving, trench patching, and mill and overlay along Herndon Parkway.
The work required close coordination with permitting and maintenance-of-traffic requirements while wet utility construction was performed within the roadway. Muller sequenced field operations to maintain safe traffic flow, support erosion and sediment control compliance, and completed its site development scope in April 2026 while Fairfield continued delivery of the overall community.
